 I shot a wedding Saturday night at The Artisan. It was poolside and the weather was perfect. The couple were so happy and the bridal party were great to work with. It was great and the couple that got married were a lot of fun.

Semester End...

I cannot believe the semester is almost over. I have one final due this week and two due next week. I guess I can't count my Portraiture class having a final as all we have to do is bring in our 12 prints and a CD with our final images we printed. The summer semester starts June 6 and I am taking the Night Photography class and an English class online.

I am really enjoying my new MAC! I am a die hard PC person so I thought it was going to be an issue but I have been using Mac's in the digital lab for almost 2 years so I guess I have adjusted =) I still don't have PS on it tho which is a real bummer so I am still having to use my old computer. I just ordered it today from journeyed.com.

My New Computer, YAY!!!

Well, I went Mac. I am just wondering...once you go Mac, do you ever go back? Spent 2 hours at the Apple store @Town Square on Saturday getting the new computer. Don't have Photoshop on the Mac yet so I am still doing all my editing on my laptop. The Big 4 was last weekend and so was everything else so I didn't get to go. I am bummed. Everyone had the best time. Witnessed history. My friend Tod got a drum stick from Lars!

My Weddng Anniversary

My sixteenth wedding anniversary is Friday. I have been so looking forward to it. We have no plans yet but hopefully it will be fun. I had originally planned a San Francisco trip but my hubby nixed that idea. I did a shoot this week of a girl I know that works at MAC. I got a hold of her last week and was so excited that she wanted to model for me. She is so beautiful. I'm going back to City Center to shoot tomorrow. I loved it last time. I just hope I don't shoot the same stuff, lol =)

Spring Break is just flying by. I went to shoot my group photo last night for my Portraiture class. I shot my friend Miles' band Mynas. We went downtown to shoot. The guys were acting goofy and one of them was a little drunk but all in all it was fun. I was supposed to shoot my female character portrait last Saturday but the weather didn't cooperate so I went shopping instead =)

I had a test last Thursday in my Rock & Roll History class. I got an 89%. I was kind of disappointed I didn't break the A barrier. All the notes I take in that class, Geesh!! Our assignment for tomorrow is to go to an Irish pub and listen to Irish rock music. Wow! What an assignment!!

I did a lot of homework this weekend. Just photo editing and what not. Our field trip to Sue Altenburg's studio was great. She was a really nice lady and we got a tour of the whole place. I have an exam in my Rock & Roll History class on Thursday. And, I have a print due Tuesday night in my Portraiture class. I was supposed to do my presentation on Harry Benson last Tuesday night but we ran out of time so I will hopefully be doing it tomorrow night.

I will be hitting the Strip again tomorrow for my Las Vegas Document class. We will be farther north than we were a couple of weeks ago. By Circus Circus. I am a little partial to shooting downtown. As glitzy as the strip is and all, the downtown area just seems to have more character. I thought I got some awesome shots last week near the arts district. Charleston & Casino Center. Just before the shoot was winding down, I went into an antique store that was so cool. I took a lot of pics in there. I was surprised the lady let us. I am going to Sue Altenberg's photography studio tomorrow night with my Portraiture class. A little field trip. I am really looking forward to it.

I worked forever today! I am so beat. Yesterday I went to WPPI with my friend Prinya. I was looking for a new tripod. I found the Manfrotto 055BPROB. It was $189 show price. I hesitated and I am hearing the little voices in the back of my head. Get it! Should I get it?! No! Wait. Glad I waited. I found it on amazon.com today for $142. BIG price difference. I also found the Giottos MTL9371B. It is a little more expensive than the Manfrotto tho. I did pick up the Black Rapid camera strap. Kinda nice how it screws in onto the bottom of your camera and it makes it easy to shoot as well. It is the woman's version of it which is nice for us bustier broads ;)

I started working on my Portrait Master assignment for my Portraiture class. I am doing it on Harry Benson. I really go inspired by him when I saw his lecture at the Cheyenne campus in November. He's a Scottish lad and he has great talent. He has been doing photography for 60 years. It's not due until March 1st but I wanted to get a jump on it. I did a photo shoot this weekend also for my portraiture class. Person with Pet. But, the Ranger kit I was using died after about 36 pics. Apparently, the student that used it before me failed to charge it after they used it. REAL NICE!!! So, I am going to re shoot it next week. The weather is supposed to get shitty this week so outdoor portraits will be no fun.

An awesome professional make up artist came in to my Portraiture class last night. His name was Jim Sacca. He was awesome. He talked a lot but I learned a lot as well. Got the new issue of Guitar World today. I should call it Metallica World. It is an all Metallica issue. AWESOME! My awesome husband brought it home and surprised me with it today. I got to read it while I got my hair did. Uploaded all my pics to the LVD Fremont sight on Flickr. Hopefully, I get some good responses. I uploaded 5 regular images and 5 fish eye images. I have found that the fish eye works best in full sun.

Week two already. I am heading downtown in the morning to do some shooting for my Las Vegas Document class. I have never shot downtown just for the sake of shooting whatever strikes my fancy. I hope to see some interesting people, cool architecture, and cool people that won't give me any shit about shooting on their property ;)

My first school week for the Spring 2011 semester

Today marks the end of first week of classes for me. I attended my first day in my Las Vegas Document class. It sounds like a very challenging, exciting and busy next 15 weeks. We will be going on field trips to different interesting places all around the Las Vegas area. Next Thursday we will be meeting on Fremont Street for an all urban Vegas experience, I am sure ;)
